Can I do my testing without using the mouse?

Wish you were faster moving around in DYNO-MAX? For many situations, using the mouse is too slow. The following Function Accelerator keys (on your PC's keyboard) perform common tasks with just a single keystroke:

   F1 = Help
   F2 = File - Open Run…
   F3 = File - Print…
   F4 = View - Current Run Information
   F5 = View - Graph
   F6 = View - Graph's Data Points
   F7 = Edit - Automated Test Control
   F8 = Edit - Console Set Up
   F9 = Edit - Graph Set Up
   F10 = File - Save Run
   F11= Console - Dyno Cell
   F12 = File - New Run

   Alt + F2 = File - Run Manager
   Alt + F5 = View - Smart Tile Graphs
   Alt + F8 = Tools - Preferences...
   Alt + F9 = Edit Graph Set Up - Data Clipping - Apply Smart Clipping
   Alt+ F12 = Electronics - Reinitialize All Boards

Standard Windows Short Cuts, like Ctrl-C = Edit - Copy, work in DYNO-MAX, as do using Alt Key - Underlined Letter menu shortcuts.

Every Console button has an underlined letter that lets you activate it just by pushing the corresponding letter on the PC's keyboard. Note: In the Consoles, when you press an underlined letter (like the Z on the Zero button) do not hold down the Alt key!

Under Servo Load Control, you can press the PC's Up/Down and Left/Right ARROW keys to change the Hold RPM. Likewise, with the Electronic Throttle Controller, you can use the Page-Up/Page-Down and Home/End keys to move the Geared Throttle.

The following Alarm Keys and PC System keys have special functions while the Console is active:

Spacebar Key = Invokes the Panic Key Alarm function. The default actions for this alarm are usually to Pause any active Auto Test, set the Servo Set Point to zero RPM or MPH (full load), and set the Rev Limiter to zero RPM. However, like all alarm actions, this behavior can be redefined by the operator.
Esc (Escape) Key
= Invokes the Abort Key Alarm function. The default actions for this alarm are usually to cancel an active Abort Key alarm, Erase any active Auto Test, and return to the initial Servo Set Point. However, this behavior can be redefined by the operator.
User Defined Console Button = Invokes any Console Button Alarm action(s) pre-defined by the operator whenever that button (or its keyboard hot-key) are pressed.
"Scroll Lock" key = Freezes (or unfreezes) the Console’s Trace Chart (and hide any Test Complete message from the chart area).
"Break" key = Erases and then restarts the Console’s Trace Chart

Tip: In Auto Scroll mode the Break key centers the trace chart.

When viewing a graph, graph specific toolbar and accelerator keys are available. These key combinations include:

Tab (or Shift+Tab) = scroll forward or backward, respectively, between the Examine Points, Zoom In, and Pan Zoom cursor icons’ functionality

Esc = un-zooms a Zoomed In graph window
PgDn = zooms forward to a Clipped Graph’s next Clip
PgUp = zooms back to a Clipped Graph’s previous Clip
Ins = scrolls forward to your next defined Graph Tab view (in Graph Set Up Editor)
Del = scrolls back to your previous defined Graph Tab view (in Graph Set Up Editor)
F5 = View - Graph
F6 = View - Graph’s Data Points
F9 = Edit - Graph Set Up
Alt+F5 = View - Smart Tile Graphs
Alt+F9 = Edit Graph Set Up - Data Clipping - Apply Smart Clipping

Tip: During actual testing, it is faster to use these Function Accelerator keys and underlined Console letters than the mouse! So, force yourself to learn these special keys (you will be glad you did).
