Integrate your Windows PC using DYNO-MAX, together with our appropriate automated electronic load and throttle control hardware options, for keyboard dyno control. Without special programming you can easily execute many complex break-in or endurance simulations and custom engine test cycles.
DYNOmite data-acquisition electronics eliminate paper and pencil data logging – automatically recording true Hp, torque, RPM, elapsed time, etc. at up to 1,000 readings per second (per channel). It can apply inertia compensation and SAE atmospheric correction factors.
Instant test results display on either your DYNO-MAX-equipped PC or the optional portable DYNOmite LCD. Either configuration can output reports to your compatible printer (an optional ASCII thermal printer is available for portable operation).
Engine test stand options include our standalone mobile frame type with its SAE bell-housing torque tube-mounted absorber – or the docking cart and station design (shown above). Both configurations feature a rugged tubular steel frame (with heavy-duty locking casters for easy in-shop mobility). Mounting options include using either heavy-duty fixed engine plates or adjustable leveling jack screws.
Block mounting adapters are available with torque tubes that couple the absorber to many popular Cummins, Caterpillar, etc. diesel engines. Their unique sealed-bearing design transmits no torque back to your engine stand (or shipping pallet). Bell-housing plates can be field adapted to other applications.
Heavy-duty solid stainless shafts are used in both our single-rotor and our Siamese-rotor 19" or 26" toroidal flow diesel absorbers. All the shafts and U-joints are heat treated – for longer life under the extreme torque loads of diesel engine testing cycles.
Precision torque transducers all use temperature-compensated full-bridge strain gauges. Environmentally sealed industrial S-beams, load cells, or torque tubes measure the precise shaft torque, allowing the data-acquisition system to accurately calculate repeatable real-time horsepower. Pushbutton, semi-automatic zero-offset calibration is a standard feature. The software even provides support for bi-directional torque readings – for testing counter-rotation engines.

Low-cost and rapid installation are just two benefits of the standalone version’s unique design. For many applications this configuration allows testing right on the engine’s shipping crate. An expensive dyno cell is often not even required.
Easy test set-ups by mechanics and technicians with no dyno experience. Get quick horsepower plots of the entire torque vs. RPM curve. No prior experience with computers is needed. It can take less than an hour to install, test, and output report data with the DYNOmite. Just mount the absorber and torque-tube adapter plate assembly onto your engine’s bell-housing (or couple a rolling cart-mounted engine to its docking station), hook up the wiring and hoses, and begin testing.
Automated load control is available with the optional electronic auto-load servo (high or ultra-flow) control valve. It replaces the standard manual-load control unit. Just push the buttons to select the operating RPM, or set a sweep rate and allow the DYNOmite’s advanced PID algorithms to run the whole test. The computer logs all data automatically. (Simultaneous electronic throttle control, via DYNO-MAX, is also an available option.)
Advanced options including: thermostatically controlled cooling towers, fuel-flow and airflow turbines, blowby sensors, weather station (for automatic atmospheric data), EGT (exhaust-gas temperature) thermocouple kits, pressure transducers, fully digitally integrated five-gas exhaust analyzers, direct-mount smoke-opacity meters, temperature thermistors, auto-load and electronic throttle control, and more.
